Training & Development

Train a seasonal workforce at scale, keep every certification current, and know at a glance who is qualified to work each position today — built into the same record that schedules them.

Why it matters

Know who's cleared to work — before the shift starts.

Your workforce is large, seasonal, and doing safety-critical work — ride dispatch, lifeguarding, food handling, chemical handling. When training lives in a binder or a separate system, no one can say for certain who is cleared to work a position today, and an expired certification becomes a liability you discover too late. We built training into the Park Operations Platform so qualification is part of the operational record: courses and assessments, certifications with expiry, and recurring compliance, all tied to the same employee your supervisors schedule — so "is this person qualified for this assignment, right now?" has an instant, defensible answer, and your safety and compliance teams have the evidence to prove it.

  • Department supervisors
  • Safety & compliance
  • HR
  • Employees
  • General managers

What it does

Everything to train, certify, and develop your team.

Courses & curricula

Structured training your team actually completes.

  • Course modules with objectives and sequencing
  • Assigned by role, department, or individual
  • Self-service dashboard for every employee
  • Progress tracked to completion

Assessments & sign-off

Prove competency, not just attendance.

  • Configurable pass thresholds, attempts, and cooldowns
  • Instructor grading queue for manual review
  • Practical skills assessments with pass, fail, or retraining
  • Results recorded on the employee profile

Certifications

Every credential current, every expiry visible.

  • One training ledger — ride, department, and location certifications in a single record system
  • Ride-specific certification, per ride and per level — never a generic "coaster" category
  • Issue and expiry dates tracked per credential, with renewal reminders before anything lapses
  • An exportable recertification calendar of upcoming renewals

Recurring compliance

Mandatory training that schedules itself.

  • Recurring requirements on a schedule
  • Auto-assigned ahead of due dates
  • Completion tracked for audit
  • Gaps flagged to supervisors

Performance & progression

A clear path from new hire to lead.

  • Performance evaluations with competency ratings
  • Career-progression paths, position tiers, and mentoring and shadowing records
  • Proficiency tracked per ride and per kitchen station, feeding staffing recommendations
  • Impromptu trainer pairing — when the day's schedule has slack, suggested trainer/trainee pairings that fit the window

Position eligibility

Only qualified staff on safety-critical posts.

  • Qualifications mapped to positions
  • Expired credentials block the assignment
  • Eligibility visible at scheduling time
  • Cross-training tracked for flexible coverage

Built for parks

Built for how parks actually staff.

Seasonal onboarding at scale

Cohort training for hundreds of new hires before opening day, tracked to completion person by person — not a stack of sign-in sheets.

Eligibility enforced at scheduling

An expired lifeguard or ride-dispatch certification doesn't just warn — it makes the person ineligible to be scheduled to that position until it's renewed.

Safety-critical credentials

Ride dispatch, lifeguard, food handler, and chemical handling tracked with the rigor regulators and insurers expect.

Cross-training for flex

See who's qualified across positions, so you can move staff to where the day actually needs them without guessing.

How it works in practice

Sample workflows.

Workflow Lifeguard recertification before season
  1. Pre-season, the platform flags every lifeguard whose certification expires before opening day.
  2. It auto-assigns the recert course and the skills assessment to each one, with a due date ahead of opening.
  3. Practical sign-offs route to a certified instructor through the grading queue.
  4. On completion, each employee's credential updates with the new expiry date.
  5. Anyone not recertified is automatically ineligible to be scheduled to a lifeguard position until they are — so the gap can't reach the schedule.
Workflow Seasonal onboarding cohort

Two weeks before opening, a cohort of 220 seasonal hires is created. The platform assigns each their role-based curriculum and assessments and tracks completion per person.

Supervisors watch a live readiness board. Anyone short of required training by orientation day is surfaced before they're ever put on a schedule.

Workflow Mid-season lapse

A food handler's certification is about to lapse. The platform flags it ahead of the expiry and assigns the renewal automatically.

If it lapses anyway, the employee is removed from eligibility for food-handling positions until it's current — closing the loop so nothing slips through to the schedule.
