Theme Park Review Hacked (Updated 10/24)

On Tuesday we made an announcement about theme park enthusiast website Theme Park Review (TPR) suffering a catastrophic breach of security. Since that time, The TPR crew have made numerous attempts to restore the site. However each attempt has resulted in further compromise of the database and email list. Based solely on the continued threat level and lack of technical response from TPR. We have made the ultimate decision to indefinitely suspend incoming mail from TPR, and to drop themeparkreview.com from our DNS servers. We will re-evaluate this situation on an as needed basis, and keep you informed of any further modifications to our service.

Update: 10/24/2009 – 7:21 PM

We are currently in the process of updating DNS records for TPR, you can expect access to be restored very shortly. The network operations team is reviewing mail from TPR in the quarantine ques. Initial reports are that it is mostly raw text and spam. Due to its nature and content, I will most likely have them deleted. Mail service from TPR will be restored at midnight tonight, however due to the lack of SPF record implementation, please be advised that it will most likely end up in your SPAM folder. Once TPR updates their DNS for PTR service records, the mail servers will no longer flag it as spam.

Update: 10/24/2009 – 7:38 PM

DNS for TPR has been restored.

If you have any questions, or concerns please direct them to our network operations team. 214-453-0060 ext. 1315
